Avmount Double 'U' Shear Mountings are used for the isolation of Shock & Vibration and can be loaded in 3 different axis as shown in the illustration. The mountings should be fixed such that the Bonded Rubber in the Mounting is stressed in SHEAR, because it affords the maximum flexibility in directions A and B they are comparatively stiff in the direction C as the bonded rubber is in compression. Stiffness in this direction is a useful characteristic for applications where limitation of movement in one direction is required.
Avmounts Double ‘U’ Shear Mountings are simple in design and can be fixed with great ease since there are open slots provided in the top and bottom U clamps, as shown in the illustration for the installation on a hydraulic unit consisting of a pump and motor unit mounted on a common frame and fixed on the oil container/tank with Double U Shear Anti Vibration Mountings. The Double U Shear Mountings are available in 4 sizes and in 3 different rubber mixes varying in hardness of the rubber. This facilitates the use of the same size of mounting at each point of support, but varying in the load carrying capacity such that the same deflection is achieved over the whole base of the mounted unit. In such cases the whole unit will deflect uniformly and the system will have a common natural frequency.
